Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26th, 1991) better known by her real name Ari Lennox is an American musician and singer from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist contracted to J. Cole's record label Dreamville Records. The first single, Pho was released on the 21st of October, 2016 was released on Dreamville Records. She began to gain recognition. Shea Butter Baby, her debut studio album, debuted on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading songs on the internet in 2012 after she dropped her mixtape debut Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. The year 2014 saw her release further music online including Bound. Her music was also featured on Omen's Elephant Eyes and from Sweat It Out, on the 21st of July, 2015. The following year, her music was circulating around the Dreamville team as J. Cole wanted her to collaborate with him for some possible references for Rihanna. The official signing ceremony was held with Dreamville Records on 8 December. Backseat, a track which she co-wrote together with Cozz in the Revenge of the Dreamers II album that they co-produced. Then, in October 2016 she debuted her debut EP, Pho. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change song, and performed on her own tour, the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. In 2018, she was featured as a guest artist on two songs, with EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song as well as Bas' Icarus. The debut album of Ari Lennox Shea Butter Baby was released on July 16, 2018. First single, Whipped Cream The album's first single, Whipped Cream was released on the 5th of September, 2018 and featured a an accompanying music video. In November, she dropped the singles 40 Shades of Choke & Grampa. The 13th of November, she came out with two additional singles, One and Pedigree. One or Pedigree. She appeared with Cole in her Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby On the 16th of November, and she released the song in a solo version for her first album. A music video was released on the 20th of February in conjunction with the song. Within the first week, it had over 3,000,000 views. In December of 2018, she was a supporting act on From East Atlanta With Love Tour. From East Atlanta With Love Tour along with 6LACK.
